Chickens really deserve better treatment... They have feelings and are very intelligent...I hate seeing them in battery cages, etc.

Absolutely take my hat off to u guys by giving your four battery hens a idyllic new home & Love the style & size of your Chicken coop..I kept 40 freerange Chickens in my previous life & they gave me so much joy ! My girls used to Love boiled potato skins mashed up with added bran mixed into the bowl of mash then served room temperature.Keep up the good work guys!

Just saw your post. Your ladies are very precious. I guess for us we make sure draft free and dry. When it gets extremely cold we do have heat panels that we use at night to take off the chill. Cozy products flat panel. Again I enjoyed watching your video on the rescue hens. They are sooo lucky they have you both. ❤

Absolutely lovely video. Your chicks are picking their favourite bits out of the mixed grain food, that's why it's getting scattered around. Our 3 do that. It's like when your kids pick the raisins out of their cereal and leave the rest.

Feeding her potential chicks back to her? I'm confused? Totally confused? Thought you saved them from slaughter because you cared about their welfare but then you scramble up potential chickens & feed it back to them? Don't make any sense at all. Next you'll be eating roast chicken or of the likes, I don't know lovely to save the chickens but... I don't know 1❤ Vegan

get some cabbages, just a few and tie string round them. Hang them about 2 feet off the ground. The chickens have to jump up which is good exercise. Jack russel dogs are bred for catching rats. IF YOU KNOW ANYONE THAT has some just get some of the hair off their brush and poke it down any holes. The smell puts the rats off.

We used to keep a dozen chickens in our council house back garden. Ive seen a rat gnawing on the chickens crop to eat the corn the chickens eaten. It doesnt kill the chicken but not nice. The layers mash we always mixed in potato peelings and very finely ground eggshells that had been baked in the oven, good for calcium and strengthens the new eggs.

Never leave the water in the hen house ,it causes mold + leaving the food in the coop attracts foxes and other animals

Your little pink buckets should be scattered as it's called scratch..

eggs have a protective bloom around it which prevents bacteria from entering. when you wash eggs, you also wash the bloom off, meaning they last not as long and also need to be refrigerated!

Another trick, I put a metal fishing swivel on the door and another swivel on the end of the string to connect the door to the string, but easy to quickly disconnect it if needed. I need to disconnect it from time to time at my place. Blessings.

The door difficulty may be caused because the door frame is out of square, easy to check.

Instead of wasting your time in un productive creatures why don't u eat them up.
